We reported last week at WrestlingRumors.net that there was still a cloud of mystery surrounding the rules of the Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational in New Orleans at WrestleMania 30 on April 6.
Would it be a Battle Royal? Would it be an Elimination match?
Ponder no longer. Guerrero herself announced on “Monday Night RAW” that her invitational will be one-fall-to-a-finish. The first Diva to pin or submit any of her opponents will become Divas Champion.
AJ Lee will be defending her title against Naomi, Cameron, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Summer Rae, Natalya, Emma, Aksana, Alicia Fox, Rosa Mendes, Layla and Tamina Snuka.
At WrestleMania 30, Lee will have been Divas Champion for 294-straight days. She had just one victory to her credit in the month of March, defeating Natalya on “WWE Main Event” on March 4.
She was beaten on six other occasions, including her most recent loss on “Monday Night RAW” on March 31 in a Lumberjills match to Naomi.
Editor’s Note
It would seem like almost insurmountable odds for Lee to overcome in order to retain her gold. A total of 13 challengers means that every Diva active on the main roster has an equal opportunity to win the Divas Championship on the big stage.
With so many bodies in the ring at the same time, the match could end up being a giant cluster with no real flow or substance.
