Former NFL Offensive Tackle Quinn Ojinnaka — better known to wrestling fans as Moose — recently re-signed with Ring of Honor wrestling on an undisclosed deal.
Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling had reportedly made a huge push to bring him to the upstart promotion, per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Moose was even advertised as being a part of Global Force following a roster reveal on May 6.
The plan was for Jarrett to build the company around Moose and make him one of GFW’s biggest stars.
World Wrestling Entertainment also reportedly wanted to sign Moose, but their plan was for him to be a contestant on the upcoming “Tough Enough” series and make him a “male ringer.” Unfortunately, with no guarantee of landing a contract, those negotiations eventually fell through.
ROH will continue pushing Moose up the card, although he did recently lose his first singles match during a television taping against Cedric Alexander.
There are no plans for him to be working any of GFW’s television tapings. Moose will, however, be wrestling at the AAA Lucha Libre World Cup IPPV this Sunday.
He recently teamed with New Japan Pro Wrestling star Gedo in a winning effort against Silas Young and Takaaki Watanabe at ROH’s “Global Wars” event on May 15.
Editor’s Note
MOOSE! *pumps arm* MOOSE! *pumps arm* MOOSE! I love his potential. He still makes rookie mistakes here and there, but with a little more seasoning, Moose can be something truly special for Ring of Honor.
