Seth Rollins will have his hands full at WWE “Night of Champions” on Sept. 20 in Houston, as he’s set to defend both of his championships in two separate bouts.
According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has a ton of Cena shirts with the United States title featured on the front that are set to be put back on sale for the company. This could be a subtle hint that Cena will regain his championship at the upcoming pay-per-view.
This past Monday night on “Raw,” it was Cena – along with Darren Young and Titus O’Neal of The Prime Time Players – emerging victorious in the night’s main event, defeating Rollins and The New Day.
This would be Cena’s fifth reign with the gold should he defeat Rollins. He’s held the United States title for 147 combined days, which is currently tied with Big Show. Two more days will pass “The Vigilante” Sting, who will go one-on-one with Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at “Night of Champions.”
Editor’s Note
Cena winning the title back one month after losing it would be quite the weird booking decision. Then again, perhaps it’s been WWE’s plan all along for Rollins to capture both belts, then lose them in one fell swoop.
