WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella and her sister Brie recently took part in a live panel at Indianapolis Comic Con over the weekend.
When asked about NXT Divas getting more time than the “Total Divas” appearing on regular television, Nikki said the following:
“I was saying that. If I was in NXT I would not wanna come up to the main roster because you get so much time down there. If you come to the live events you’ll see we get a lot of time at the live events. When it comes to TV we get so frustrated because it’s hard to tell a story in 3 minutes and especially when they want an entrance. We want time to wrestle. Especially after watching NXT Rival pay-per-view and seeing them go 20 minutes, it’s like a dream. It’s something we’d love and we’re trying so hard to get more time. There’s a three hour Raw and you can’t give more time to the Divas? But, hopefully in the future.”
It was recently reported that several superstars in WWE are frustrated over the fact that developmental talent in NXT are getting more in-ring time during airings of “NXT” and the NXT Takeover” specials.
A similar story emerged after “NXT Takeover: R Evolution” in December when talent became worried that their “WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Stairs” pay-per-view would have a great deal of difficulty following NXT’s live show.
Editor’s Note
She has a valid point. Joining WWE’s main roster is the end game, but with the way matches are being booked for both brands, the true competitors would likely prefer NXT because of the time being allocated to in-ring competition.
