In his first television appearance since his departure from World Wrestling Entertainment, CM Punk (Phillip Brooks) was a guest on “The Talking Dead” with Chris Hardwick on Sunday night.

The WWE does not own the trademark to the ‘CM Punk’ name, but at his request, Brooks preferred to go by his real name.

As expected, there was no mention of Brooks’ wrestling career and why he left the WWE. He’s appeared on “The Talking Dead” in the past, and even then, the WWE wasn’t brought up.

You could always overanalyze every little thing that he said though.

Courtesy of the Squared-Circle Entertainment Facebook page, here’s a snapshot of Brooks on the show:

Melissa McBride (Carol on “The Walking Dead”) and Yvette Nicole Brown of “Community” were also guests.

At the end of the night, Brooks made a subtle remark by saying that he was a “completely new person” after Brown called him sweet. Take that for what it’s worth.
