El Hijo del Perro Aguayo Dies Following Match With Rey Mysterio

In an absolutely tragic news story, PWTorch.com is reporting AAA wrestler El Hijo del Perro Aguayo has passed away following a match at a show in Tijuana, Mexico.

El Hijo was taken out of Municipal Auditorium arena and rushed to Del Prado hospital in Mexico following a mishap with a 619 spot during his bout with Rey Mysterio,

He reportedly took the kick to his trachea and experienced whiplash while trying to avoid the move.

Marcos Angulo Álvarez of the Zeta Libre Como El Viento reported that El Hijo was stabilized at the hospital after losing consciousness. He was pronounced dead at 1 a.m. local time.

El Hijo competed against Mysterio in the main event of AAA’s “Rey de Reyes” pay-per-view two nights earlier for Mysterio’s first post-WWE bout.

Several members of the wrestling community have taken to Twitter to offer their thoughts and condolences. TNA superstar Manik, who was also involved in the match, had this to say:
