It was recently confirmed by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com that Dolph Ziggler had re-signed with World Wrestling Entertainment on a multi-year deal.
This was a surprising move considering how Ziggler would occasionally troll his followers on Twitter with teases that he may be contemplating the idea of leaving.
Gayle Fee of the Boston Herald talked to the former WWE Intercontinental Champion before his standup show at the Kowloon in Beantown this past weekend.
“I mean, it feels like I started here, I should end my career in the WWE,” Ziggler said about his new contract. “I feel like they like having me around and I love working here, so it would be really hard to walk away.”
Ziggler is a former two-time World Heavyweight Champion and Money in the Bank winner, yet being in front of a group of 75 people doing standup comedy is one of the terrifying experiences he’s ever had.
“I was shaking so hard I was thinking to myself, ‘Please don’t drop the mic.'”
Former WWE writer Court Bauer recently mentioned on a recent episode of his podcast that Ziggler may have asked for more of a main event push in the near future as incentive to re-sign with WWE.
Editor’s Note
He’s still here to show the world why he deserves to be a top guy. Let’s just hope someone in WWE creative is ready to back him up.
