In a late-breaking story from WWE.com, the company has come to terms on the release of eleven of their superstars:

WWE has come to terms on the release of the following Superstars as of today, June 12, 2014:

  • Curt Hawkins
  • JTG
  • Theodore Long
  • Camacho
  • Brodus Clay
  • Evan Bourne
  • Yoshi Tatsu
  • Jinder Mahal
  • Aksana
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Marc Harris (referee)

WWE wishes them the best in all their future endeavors.

Curt Hawkins is a former WWE Tag Team Champion with Zack Ryder. He last competed in an NXT Championship No. 1 Contender Battle Royal at the April 24 tapings. That bout was eventually won by Tyson Kidd, Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze.

Theodore Long is a former general manager of the SmackDown brand, as well as ECW. He’s managed the likes of Mark Henry, Jazz, Rodney Mack and Ezekiel Jackson during his time in WWE.

Camacho debuted on the main roster as an enforcer for Hunico, who now works under the Sin Cara gimmick. He lost a singles match to Adam Rose at “NXT Takeover” just a few weeks ago.

Brodus Clay had been working in NXT over the past several months. He’s a former member of Tons of Funk with Tensai, although they never won any championships together. Clay also accompanied Alberto Del Rio to the ring at WrestleMania 27 in his World Heavyweight Championship match against Edge.

Evan Bourne is a former one-time WWE Tag Team Champion as a member of Air Boom with Kofi Kingston. He’s been out of action for over a year with a broken foot. The biggest win of his career came at “WWE Fatal 4-Way” in 2010 when he defeated Chris Jericho.

Yoshi Tatsu was a participant in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX, eventually being eliminated by The Great Khali. He’s made sporadic appearances on NXT programming and “WWE Superstars” for the past several years.

Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal were both members of 3MB. The duo had paired with Heath Slater and Hornswoggle to feud with Los Matadores and El Torito on television and at special events in 2014. McIntyre is also a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, as well as a WWE Tag Team Champion with Cody Rhodes.

Aksana was last seen on “Monday Night Raw” accompanying Alicia Fox to the ring for her match against Paige. She appeared on camera as a love interest to both Theodore Long and Cesaro in the past.

Harris, who’s been known to botch ref spots left and right, whether it’s by counting 3 when someone kicks out, or not seeing a tap out take place, has been released as well.

JTG was once a member of the tag team Cryme Tyme, and did very little with a Singles run from 2008-2014.

Editor’s Note

Shocking. Camacho had just been used in a semi-decent program in NXT with Rose. Clay and Bourne both still had potential to be valuable contributors on the main roster, but I guess that ship has sailed. Tatsu and Hawkins are no real loss, with all due respect. Long has been used on television for quite a while now. 3MB is gone and I will not miss them in the slightest, although I did have high hopes for McIntyre at one time. Aksana? Meh.
