According to a report by PWInsider.com, the backstage reason as to why Evolution (Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista) has been placed in a feud with The Shield revolves around Roman Reigns.
Management wants to push Reigns as a top player in the company, so while Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins should also get a nice rub over the next month or so, the man with more to gain long-term is in fact Reigns.
As we’ve previously reported at WrestlingRumors.net, the plan is for Reigns to go one-on-one with Triple H at “WWE SummerSlam” on August 17.
Word now is that the encounter could take place at either “WWE Hell in a Cell” on Oct. 26 or “WWE Survivor Series” on Nov. 23 to stretch things out.
Evolution will face The Shield in a six-man tag team match at “WWE Extreme Rules” on May 4 at the Izod Center in Rutherford, NJ.
Editor’s Note
This report shouldn’t surprise anyone. Roman Reigns is looked at as the next big thing in World Wrestling Entertainment. Working with Triple H is a bigger deal than some would like to believe. The best is yet to come.
