It was reported earlier today at WrestlingRumors.net that both Awesome Kong and TNA Knockouts Champion Taryn Terrell were set to leave the company.
Dave Meltzer of PWInsider.com had the original report, stating that both Kong and Terrell’s contracts with TNA expired over the weekend, with “Slammiversary” on June 28 being one of their final dates.
Kong will team with Brooke Tessmacher at the pay-per-view to take on Terrell and The Dollhouse in a 2-on-3 Handicap match.
Both ladies have taken to Twitter since the report was published, letting fans know that they are entirely false and that they will still be members of TNA’s roster for the foreseeable future.
Stop making up rumors Internet! I just started playing!! I’m not going ANYWHERE!! #thedollhouse

Contrary to rumors, @IMPACTWRESTLING and I will ring in the new year together & I’ll ‘deck the halls’ of anyone who says otherwise #staying

TNA’s Bob Ryder took a more direct approach to Meltzer’s report, asking for an apology on his end.
.@davemeltzerWON The story on your site is totally wrong and an example of irresponsible reporting. An apology and correction should follow.

Editor’s Note
Our story here at the site played off of Meltzer’s story. I apologize for not digging further into the report before posting.
