Actor Stephen Amell, who is famous for his lead role as Oliver Queen on the hit DC Comics television show Arrow, will reportedly face Stardust in a match at WWE “SummerSlam,” according to Hollywoodlife.com:

What’s hotter than Stephen Amell, 34, as DC Comics superhero Arrow? Stephen as Arrow, fighting face to face with WWE legend Cody Rhodes, 29, (aka Stardust) at the most exciting wrestling match of the year, of course! A source reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Stephen is set to take on Stardust at this year’s WWE SummerSlam — and we seriously can’t wait. Read on for all the details!

“Steven is looking to get in the ring for the WWE and the match looks like it will take place at SummerSlam in NYC,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

Amell got into a Twitter war with Stardust recently after the actor appeared ringside during the March 25 episode of “Monday Night Raw.”

WWE has yet to make an official statement concerning the report. There’s also no way of knowing whether Amell would compete as himself or The Green Arrow character.

Amell will also play Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Half Shell, which is set for release in 2016.

WWE “SummerSlam” takes place on Aug. 23, live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Editor’s Note

I didn’t see this coming. This is a quality get for WWE – if true – as Arrow is one of the more popular television shows running at the moment. I guess Stardust isn’t a lost cause after all. The company wouldn’t trust just anyone to step in the ring with a famous actor. It also makes sense for WWE to begin teasing tension now, thus giving Amell ample time to train should the match come to fruition.
