Back in 2014, MMA fighter Ronda Rousey made an appearance at WrestleMania 31, even getting involved in the action a bit. Now, celebrity appearances are de rigeur at WrestleMania, but not every celebrity is a person who has made their living getting in real fights. Recently, Triple H was asked about the possibility of Rousey partaking in further WWE events, and he sounded like he thought it was a real possibility.

“I know that she’s is a massive fan. I know that she had a wonderful time when she worked with us in the past and I know we’ve talked about doing things in the future,” he said. Now, it probably won’t be anytime soon, because she is in the process of preparing for her return to the UFC ring. “Right now [Ronda is] focused on unfinished things in the UFC,” Triple H continued, “I know she has a lot of other projects in the work. But, never say never in the WWE – we have a great relationship and we’ll see where it goes.”

It seems likely that Rousey will pop up in the WWE someday, but the real interesting possibility is whether or not she might actually take up being a WWE superstar as a second career. She wouldn’t be the first mixed martial artist to turn to pro wrestling. Some have had success (Ken Shamrock), while others couldn’t quite find their footing (Tank Abbott). Then, of course, there’s Brock Lesnar, who has balanced being a legit MMA fighter and a WWE wrestler for a while now. Perhaps Rousey will follow in his footsteps. One assumes she would be pushed to the top of the women’s division immediately.
