We haven’t seen Finn Balor on WWE television since he had to relinquish his Universal Championship due to the shoulder injury he suffered in his match with Seth Rollins wherein he won the inaugural Universal Championship. While some have been hoping to see him make an appearance at Royal Rumble, perhaps even in the Rumble match as a surprise entrant, some lucky wrestling fans got to see Balor appear, and compete, at an indie wrestling event.
The promotion in question is called Progress, and Balor popped up recently at a show. This would have been exciting enough, assuredly. Balor is a big name and an extremely popular wrestler, and here he was in the ring of Progress.
It didn’t end there, though, because Balor then got involved in the action. Does this mean his shoulder is fine and we can expect to see him in the Rumble? Well, not so far.
Balor “competed” alright, but he did it in a game of musical chairs. Yes, the man known occasionally as the Demon King was involved in a game of musical chairs in a wrestling ring.
When Balor makes his return to the WWE, we can probably safely say there will be no musical chairs involved.
