While WWE has yet to make it official, it looks like former Intercontinental Champion Rick Rude will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. It’s unclear exactly when WWE will officially make the announcement, but Rude, along with Diamond Dallas Page, are the two names that have been rumored to be going in this year.

As for who will induct Rude, well, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there’s only one man for the job: Paul Heyman.

“I would think that the best person [to induct Rude] would be Paul Heyman. He managed him in WCW and they were pretty good friends for a while. Heyman got him back into pro wrestling when he was gone for years and years. He ended up working for all three groups, but he started in ECW. So I would think that Heyman might be the guy.”

With Rude likely going in this year, it looks like Chyna, who passed away last spring, won’t be going in because WWE typically only does one posthumous induction per year.
