In order to promote the upcoming Royal Rumble, the WWE has been putting full Royal Rumble matches up on YouTube. A little while back, we linked you to the full video of the 2005 Royal Rumble, which was won by Batista, who last eliminated John Cena. Now, they’ve gone back to the old school well, taking us five years into the past for the 2012 Royal Rumble.
While this was only five years ago, the 2012 Royal Rumble is a reminder of how quickly things can change in the world of professional wrestling. For example, both Daniel Bryan and CM Punk defended titles at this event. Neither was in the Rumble match itself, though, but that match is also significant in WWE history. It was the last time Mick Foley ever competed in a WWE match, and he was one of only a handful of wrestling legends who competed in the Rumble. Was Jim Duggan there? Of course Jim Duggan was there.
The 2012 Royal Rumble match is perhaps not the most memorable Rumble match, including the winner (we’ll leave that a mystery in case you want to check out the match for the first time). However, it’s a free, full-length Rumble on YouTube. To complain would be gauche.
