As we previously reported today, December 17, WWE is looking at new television deals from a wide array of networks. In addition with their search for new television contracts, WWE is looking to make “WWE Smackdown” a live program, according to our previous report.

Variety is also reporting that WWE has already reached out or held meetings with companies such as Viacom, Disney, A&E, 21st Century Fox, and Discovery.

Although it is unclear what direction WWE may want to go in with Viacom, it is important to note that the company owns Spike TV, which currently airs “Impact Wrestling. If WWE were to agree to a deal with Viacom in the early months of 2014, it would likely leave TNA without a national presence as it would need to find a new network to air “Impact Wrestling.”
