As seen during the ending of the April 7 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” The Shield, alongside Daniel Bryan, clashed with Evolution (Triple H, Batista, and Randy Orton) and on-screen Director of Operations Kane. In a recent report by F4WOnline, the website is reporting that the idea of doing a Shield vs. Evolution match has been thrown around.
One of the possible dates for the match would be at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on May 4. However, it will likely depend upon who challenges Daniel Bryan for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, reports F4WOnline. Additionally, there has been some speculation that a Shield vs. Evolution match would be contested as a War Games match.
Regarding a possible War Games match at Extreme Rules, F4WOnline is reporting that it is not likely to occur, despite Triple H’s remarks of a “war” at hand between the two sides. For one, from now to SummerSlam, there are no pay-per-view venues that could accommodate two rings. Additionally, the idea has been brought up countless times in the past, only to be shot down by Vince McMahon.
Editor’s Note
We here at WrestlingRumors.net had the possibility of a War Games match established before these reports, as Doug McDonald talked about having War Games at Extreme Rules during the April 8 edition of Wrestling Rumors Radio. I would love to see a War Games match at Extreme Rules or some other pay-per-view in 2014, especially as this Authority/Evolution vs. Daniel Bryan storyline continues to unfold.
If Shield vs. Evolution does occur at Extreme Rules, it will be interesting to see who Daniel Bryan defends his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against. My money is on Kane, if the situation arises.
