In early November, for the final time in 2014, WWE toured Europe and the United Kingdom. The Nov. 10 “Monday Night Raw” and Nov. 14 “Smackdown” would both be aired from Liverpool, England at the Echo Arena. With WWE being overseas, there was the rare occurrence of “Monday Night Raw” being on tape delay. In turn, spoilers for the show got out, prior to “Raw” going on the air at 8 p.m. EST.
Despite WWE’s flagship program airing on tape delay, viewership was not substantially impacted. In fact, the Nov. 10 episode of “Monday Night Raw” averaged 3.93 million viewers, only down about three percent from last week’s average viewership of 4.04 million. Coming in at just under four million viewers, the showing of “Raw” from Liverpool scored better viewership numbers than any edition of the program in October of 2014.
Below is the hourly breakdown in regards to viewership for the Nov. 10 showing of “Monday Night Raw:”
Hour 1: 4.018 million viewers
Hour 2: 3.943 million viewers
Hour 3: 3.831 million viewers
Among cable programs on Monday night, viewership for “Raw” was only bested by ESPN’s “Monday Night Football.” WWE outdrew VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” series, which typically doesn’t happen. “Raw” also scored a 1.4 rating for adults aged 18-49, up from a 1.3 rating a week ago.
Editor’s Note
I expected the drop to be a lot more than it turned out to be. I guess this is what happens when WWE produces a solid pre-taped show, and features “The Big Guy” throughout the entire night.
