WWE aired its annual Christmas special of “Monday Night Raw” on Dec. 22. Hulk Hogan hosted the show, portraying “Ho Ho Hogan” due to Mick Foley, who typically portrays Santa for WWE, having a prior engagement. The showing of WWE’s flagship program featured a number of marquee matches, one of which saw Roman Reigns wrestle on “Raw” for the first time since his return from injury.
According to TVByTheNumbers, the Dec. 22 “Monday Night Raw” obtained an average of 3.631 million viewers. The figure is up about three percent from last week, which was one of the least-watched showings of “Raw” in all of 2014.
Below is the hourly viewership breakdown for the show:
Hour 1: 3.632 million viewers
Hour 2: 3.907 million viewers
Hour 3: 3.354 million viewers
While viewership almost hit four million during the second hour, the third and final hour was met with a monumental drop. The hour, which closed with a “Miracle on 34th Street Fight” between Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt, was down 14 percent from hour two.
Despite the huge drop in viewership to close the show, “Raw” was the most-viewed and highest-rated non-football program on Monday, Dec. 22. It would receive a 1.3 rating for adults aged 18-49, up from last week’s episode.
Editor’s Note
Once we hit 2015, “Raw” viewership should be back around four million.
