Highly-esteemed comedian and television host Joan Rivers passed away on Thursday, Sept. 4, at the age of 81. Rivers passed due to a recent health decline, first made public on Aug. 28. Following a vocal cord procedure, Rivers stopped breathing, and was reportedly put into an induced coma.

Rivers was no stranger to WWE, appearing at the second annual WrestleMania event in 1986. Rivers was the special guest ring announcer for the fourth match on the card, the final bout from the Nassau Coliseum, between Mr. T and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Mr. T would defeat Piper by disqualification in the “Boxing Match.”

In memory of Joan Rivers, on WWE’s YouTube account, it has posted video of Rivers’ appearance at WrestleMania 2, accompanied by the following caption:

“WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of iconic comedienne Joan Rivers, who participated in one of the earliest WrestleManias in 1986. Relive Joan Rivers’ appearance at WrestleMania as she serves as a special guest ring announcer for “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s epic boxing match with Mr. T inside New York’s Nassau Coliseum.”
