On Thursday, Nov. 20, another new edition of “NXT” aired on the WWE Network at both 4 and 9 p.m. EST. Within the latest edition of the WWE programming that showcases WWE’s stars of the future, a vignette aired for one of its most recent and marquee developmental signings.
The vignette was for Kevin Steen, who will now be known as Kevin Owens in WWE. The vignette would reveal that Owens will be debuting in NXT on Dec. 11, 2014, the date of the year’s final live “NXT TakeOver” special. The video displayed Owens’ face, with little illumination, as he cut a promo on his debut. Though, the Kevin Owens name would not be revealed, as the only text that was shown read, “12/11/2014”
Watch the vignette that aired on the Nov. 20 showing of “NXT” below:
Kevin Owens’ promo went as follows:
“I will fight anyone….and everyone. Bet against me, if you want, but it’s my turn now. I am the future.”
Steen joins fellow independent wrestling standouts and recent WWE signees in Prince Devitt (Finn Bálor) and Kenta (Hideo Itami) in developmental territory NXT.
Editor’s Note
Awesome video. Stoked to see what Owens will be doing in NXT. I would love to see him join forces with Bálor and Itami.
