As we previously reported, WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin has remained adamant that CM Punk will return to WWE at WrestleMania XXX. During a recent interview with the Boston Herald , the “Texas Rattlesnake” commented further on the situation between Punk and WWE.
In the interview, Austin, who can relate to what is going on in Punk’s head, gave his thoughts on why Punk walked out on WWE:
“Punk’s fed up with not main-eventing WrestleMania.”
Austin, who will appear at WrestleMania XXX, also commented on possibly squaring off against the self-proclaimed “Best in the World,” by stating the following:
“I could get more out of that guy than anybody else walking Planet Earth. He could have that ultimate ‘Come to Jesus’ meeting with me. Punk’s been around for a long time and he’s a smart guy, but he never stepped into a damn squared circle with the intensity of a guy like Stone Cold Steve Austin.”
“Stone Cold” even revealed why he did not work with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania X8:
“I don’t know what the hell was in my head. I didn’t really care to work with him. At the time, I just didn’t really think that much of Hogan. I was caught up living pretty fast and being Stone Cold and didn’t care for it to happen.”

Editor’s Note
Austin’s continued talk of Punk is certainly intriguing. While I highly doubt anything comes out of this, it definitely makes you think, “what if Punk vs. Austin does happen?” Although, I still think this match never happens, unfortunately.
