*Spoilers* March 19 “Smackdown”

On Tuesday, March 17, WWE taped the penultimate “Smackdown” prior to WrestleMania 31.

Below are the spoilers for the March 19 “Smackdown,” taped from Kansas City, Missouri:

To kick off the show, none other than Roman Reigns entered to a mixed reaction. Mark Henry interrupted Reigns. Though, “The World’s Strongest Man” had a different attitude this week, praising the young Reigns. Seth Rollins and his Authority brethren broke up the party. Kane began, putting Reigns down verbally. Rollins then started a promo, noting that Randy Orton will not be at the show, as J&J Security and additional security will not be letting him in the arena. Additionally, he hinted towards cashing in on Reigns or Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. To close the segment, Kane announced the main event match, which will see him and Rollins team up to face Reigns and Henry.

1) Paige (w/ AJ Lee) def. Brie Bella (w/ Nikki Bella-) For the bout, AJ Lee joined the commentary team. AJ’s tag team partner at WrestleMania, Paige, got a quick victory with a roll-up pin.

2) Dolph Ziggler won an Intercontinental Contenders Gauntlet match- This match was made up of the six men vying for Bad News Barrett’s Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania. Dean Ambrose and Stardust kicked off the match, with Ambrose getting a quick pinfall. Afterwards, Stardust attacked Ambrose, but the “Lunatic Fringe” was not fazed. R-Truth entered, throwing Stardust out of the ring. Though, Truth suffered the same fate, losing quickly to Ambrose.

The next entrant was Luke Harper, who would be the one to eliminate Ambrose. Daniel Bryan entered next, receiving a nice pop from the Kansas City crowd. Harper narrowly escaped a Bryan submission off the bat, but would see a second one locked in. Harper had no choice but to tap out, leaving Bryan and the next entrant, Dolph Ziggler, as the final two combatants. The two went back-and-forth, playing into the hands of a very hot crowd. After a slew of false finishes, Ziggler hit a “Zig Zag” out of nowhere, pinning Bryan to win the Gauntlet match.

Following the match, Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett entered. He belittled the contenders to his championship, before striking Ziggler in the face with a big elbow. Then, he avoided a running knee from Bryan, hitting him with the microphone. Barrett finished the two off with a “Bull Hammer,” standing tall after the match.

Next, a backstage segment aired featuring J&J Security taking measures to ensure that Randy Orton not enter the building.

3) Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, and Natalya def. Los Matadoes and El Torito- Natalya wanted to start the match with El Torito, but Tyson Kidd tagged himself in. Later on, Natalya would get herself in the ring with El Torito, delivering a powerbomb to the bull for the win. Afterwards, in her celebration, she took her husband’s tag title.

4) Roman Reigns def. Seth Rollins and Kane- Mark Henry’s music hit, but he would not appear. Instead, the titantron showed him laid out backstage. Reigns was left all by himself, with J&J Security and other security guards standing ringside. After withstanding an early beatdown, Reigns fought his way back. Brock Lesnar’s eventual foe bested Rollins and Kane, hitting a “Superman Punch” on the former and a spear on the latter.

Afterwards, Rollins entered the ring, looking to exact revenge. However, Randy Orton’s music hit. “The Viper” received a huge pop, and chased Rollins out of the building. “Smackdown” closed with Orton, who delivered a “RKO” to all the heels minus Rollins, standing tall.
