The September 6 WWE Live Event in Montreal, Quebec featured two surprising superstars wrestling. In the opening match, Tyson Kidd made his return to in-ring action from a torn knee meniscus against NXT Champion Bo Dallas. Despite losing the match, Kidd reportedly received a big pop from the Canadian crowd. Kidd’s last WWE programming appearance was on May 27 during Monday Night Raw, when he appeared during “Bret Hart Appreciation Night.”

Along with Kidd making his return from injury, NXT star Sami Zayn made his WWE Live Event debut. At the live event, Zayn received a huge pop from his hometown crowd. Zayn defeated a familiar foe in Antonio Cesaro in what was said to be a great match. These two have been wrestling each other in NXT on a regular basis, and have been said to been putting on “Match of the Year” candidates.
