Rob Feinstein, the President of RF Video, which publishes many of wrestling’s shoot interviews, has provided details on what he has heard in regards to Alberto Del Rio’s release. As noted, Del Rio was released by WWE for unprofessional conduct and an altercation with a WWE employee.
Feinstein took to his Facebook page to comment on the matter, noting that Del Rio was for sure released due to an incident with a social media worker. Feinstein claims that Del Rio was involved in a backstage altercation with the worker, in which Del Rio slapped the employee.
Below is Feinstein’s entire post:
“I am sure the reason ADR was released will come out but he was 100% let go after TV incident that took place in the back at TV. He did get into a altercation with a employee who does stuff for the company with social media. I was told that there were words exchanged and a slap which is all just allegations at this point. When I first read the WWE release the wording struck me very strange as WWE would never say that unless they were super hot about the firing. It’s no secret that he has expressed lots of interest in going back to Mexico as soon as his contract expired, and he is very well off.”
Del Rio has a track record of getting into altercations outside of the squared circle. He played a key role in a brawl at an Irish pub, in which Drew McIntyre had to get involved in. Most recently, prior to Batista’s return to WWE, Del Rio got involved in a “twitter war” with “The Animal.”
Editor’s Note
This wouldn’t be too surprising, but it’s all just rumor and speculation for now. Though, Feinstein could easily be in the know.
