Following her surprise appearance at WrestleMania 31, many rumors floated about Ronda Rousey working a match for WWE in the future, potentially at WrestleMania 32. While Rousey’s appearance was indeed a “one-off,” WWE reportedly has a desire to have Rousey square off in singles action against Stephanie McMahon.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline recently published a report, offering more backstage notes on WWE’s desire to have Ronda Rousey go one-on-one with Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 32. While Rousey and WWE have not reached any sort of deal, there is said to be a mutual understanding between the two parties that they want such a match to take place.
Since Rousey and The Four Horsewomen appeared at “SummerSlam,” WWE reportedly has wanted to do a match between Rousey and Stephanie McMahon. At “SummerSlam,” Rousey aided McMahon in her ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.
While there is mutual interest between the two sides, there will certainly be some obstacles in WWE’s way. Due to Rousey being under contract with UFC, the company would have to sign off on Rousey wrestling in a WWE ring, should it even consider it. Though, if plans for Rousey to compete fall through, WWE has an alternative. It would likely book a singles match between The Rock and Triple H, with Stephanie McMahon in her husband’s corner and Rousey in The Rock’s corner.
Editor’s Note
While a Ronda Rousey vs. Stephanie McMahon match would be amazing, I doubt UFC would let perhaps its top draw compete for another company. Still, at the very least, hopefully Rousey is involved in WrestleMania 32.
