As we previously reported, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was on ESPN’s “SportsCenter” in order to promote his upcoming film, “Hercules.” He briefly talked about a return to WWE, and shared an interesting moment between he, John Cena, and Vince McMahon following WrestleMania 29.
On the same day, Rock stopped by “SportsNation,” another ESPN program. “Rocky” spoke with Michelle Beadle, an avid wrestling fan, more in-depth about a WWE return. Rock noted that he has been talking to Vince McMahon. Continuing, he said that it’s one of those things where he and Vince have to find the right opponent. Rock mentioned that he’s looking for someone who has that marquee match value like Brock Lesnar or John Cena. In closing, “The People’s Champion” talked about the up-and-coming WWE stars, mentioning Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns, Rock’s cousin, by name.
Additionally, Rock opened up about what his WrestleMania 29 injury meant to the WWE product back in 2013. He confirmed that he was slated to begin a “very long feud” with Brock Lesnar on the “Monday Night Raw” following WrestleMania 29. The feud would have culminated at WrestleMania XXX in “one of the main events.” Additionally, Rock noted that if that had gone well, there may have been a rematch at the upcoming WrestleMania 31. Rock did rule out Lesnar as a possible opponent down the road because “there are other plans for Brock right now.”
There have been conflicting reports in regards to Rock’s status for WrestleMania 31. A poster for the event with Rock front-and-center was briefly on LevisStadium.com, the website for the host of the event. However, there were also reports that Rock will not be part of WrestleMania 31, or the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, in which he was rumored to be the headliner.

Wow. Two very important things said by The Rock. For one, could you imagine if Rock had not got hurt? We would possibly be looking at someone else conquering “The Streak.” Also, with Rock mentioning he is looking for the right opponent for a return to WWE, he has one. However, that man, CM Punk, is no longer with WWE.
