Following a historic WrestleMania XXX, WWE seemingly began a changing of the guard the next night on “Monday Night Raw.” Then NXT Women’s Champion, Paige, debuted, besting AJ Lee for the Divas Championship. Additionally, Rusev wrestled on “Raw” for the first time, defeating Zack Ryder. On the same night, video packages were shown for the two most-recent NXT call-ups in Adam Rose and Bo Dallas.
In the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it talks about both Vince McMahon’s and producer Kevin Dunn’s views on some of these talents. In regards to Vince McMahon, it notes that he is still not completely sold on Bo Dallas, Divas Champion Paige, and Adam Rose. Though, it also states that Vince is usually not an easy person to be accepting of new stars.
The newsletter goes on to talk a bit more in-depth on Adam Rose, and why he was kept off the latest edition of “Monday Night Raw.” One of the reasons for Rose’s absence was that WWE producer Kevin Dunn allegedly buried Rose backstage, and is not a fan of the character as a whole. Also, the newsletter states that Rose’s absence signifies WWE’s beginnings of cooling off on the character.
Editor’s Note
It’s completely understandable that Vince is still not sold on those three talents. Though, at the same time, some of the struggles for these three talents should not fall on their shoulders. While Paige’s run with the Divas Championship has not been a huge success, you cannot blame Paige for some of the feuds she had to be in. On the other hand, it looks like Adam Rose is on the shortest of leashes. There, it appears a lot of the blame for Rose falls on the gimmick itself.
