A report from The Calgary Sun on Wednesday, Dec. 3, was not welcome news for the Hart wrestling family. Teddy Hart, real name Edward Annis, is reportedly facing multiple charges on sexual assault. The 34-year-old wrestler who last worked for AAA has a warrant out for his arrest in Strathcona County, Alberta.
The sexual assault charges were filed by two women, aged 24 and 40. Specifically, they filed two counts of sexual assault, two counts of unlawful confinement, and three charges of assault. As of Dec. 4, no arrest had been made, as Hart is currently out of town. Police are anticipating his return in order to make the arrest.
Teddy Hart is the cousin of current WWE Diva Natalya and nephew of WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart. He became the youngest signee of the then WWF in 1998, signing a developmental contract. Though, in 2002, he was released due to attitude problems. He re-signed with WWE in April of 2006, but was released in October of 2007. Once again, he was released due to reported attitude problems with high-ranking officials. Prior to his release, he was part of The New Hart Foundation with Tyson Kidd, Natalya, and Davey Boy Smith, Jr.

Yikes. He’s certainly had a number of controversial run-ins during his wrestling career, but these major law troubles are a shock.
