According to F4WOnline, whenever Roman Reigns turns babyface and breaks away from The Shield, a NXT star may join the main roster as a member of The Shield. The website is reporting that the feeling among WWE is that when Reigns turns in February, The Shield will gain a new member and one of the names being discussed is NXT star Mason Ryan.

Ryan made his debut in WWE in January of 2011 when he interfered in a match between John Cena and CM Punk. Punk then gave him a Nexus arm band and inducted him into the New Nexus. Ryan would go on to team with Punk later that year for a crack at the WWE Tag Team Championships in May .

Ryan then returned to NXT during the last week of August after he had been absent from WWE programming due to an injury. Since then, Ryan has not returned to the main roster.
