As we previously reported, there are rumors going around that Brock Lesnar will go one-on-one with Big Show at the 2014 edition of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The 2014 edition of the PPV will take place on Jan. 26 live from Pittsburgh, Pa. at the Consol Energy Center.

Wrestling Observer is now reporting that WWE’s original plans had Big Show slated to face Lesnar at the Royal Rumble PPV, as previously reported, but Big Show would have been pushed as a main event star prior to the match.

The newsletter’s report says the original plan was for Show to come out on top against WWE COO Triple H and current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton. However, Show would not come out with Orton’s title. The idea from there was for Show to look strong for Lesnar at the Royal Rumble and then maker Lesnar look even stronger for The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX.
