The Dec. 8, showing of “Monday Night Raw” coincided with WWE’s annual Slammy Awards show. As usual, this year’s Slammy Awards were met with special guest appearances from some of WWE’s finest. Among them were Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, and Johnny Laurinaitis. The “Raw” also served as the “go-home” show to WWE’s December pay-per-view, “TLCS.”

According to TVByTheNumbers.com, the Dec. 8 episode of “Monday Night Raw” averaged 3.706 million viewers. The figure is down four-and-a-half percent from last week’s average viewership of 3.880 million. Comparing it to the 2013 Slammy Awards, the drop is even greater. The previous year’s Slammy Awards, which occurred Dec. 9, averaged 4.210 million viewers.

Below is the hourly viewership breakdown for the Dec. 8 “Monday Night Raw:”

Hour 1: 3.761 million viewers

Hour 2: 3.811 million viewers

Hour 3: 3.530 million viewers

“Raw” was the third-highest rated cable program that night, trailing ESPN’s “Monday Night Raw” and VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” series. The edition of WWE’s flagship program received a rating of 1.3 for the demographic of adults aged 19 through 49.

Editor’s Note

With next week marking the beginning of the build to the “Royal Rumble,” viewership should start to rise and keep rising heading into the new year.
