From the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, on March 23, WWE aired the final edition of “Monday Night Raw” prior to its biggest event of 2015, WrestleMania 31. The star-studded show featured appearances from “The Vigilante” Sting, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar, and even Hulk Hogan. Additionally, WWE had two celebrity guests, Snoop Dogg and Bill Simmons, join the program at various times.
According to TVByTheNumbers.com, the March 23 showing of “Monday Night Raw” obtained an average of 4.19 million viewers, up about seven percent from the previous week’s figure of 3.919 million. For the first time in four weeks, WWE drew in more than four million viewers for its flagship program. On an even better note, all three hours of “Raw” attracted more than four million viewers.
Below is the hourly viewership breakdown for the March 23 “Monday Night Raw:”
Hour 1: 4.178 million viewers
Hour 2: 4.342 million viewers
Hour 3: 4.043 million viewers
For the night, “Raw” was the most-viewed and highest-rated cable program. It garnered a 1.5 rating for adults aged 18-to-49 during its two best hours, edging out VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop” and its 1.4 rating for the key demographic.
Editor’s Note
I expected “Raw” would see increased viewership given the magnitude of the show, in addition to its star power. Still, these buildup to WrestleMania viewership numbers are noticeably down from previous years.
