At WrestleMania 31, UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance alongside “Furious 7” co-star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The appearance was said to be the beginning of a storyline in which Rousey and The Rock would be involved in some sort of battle against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at WrestleMania 32. While WWE wants Rousey to square off against McMahon in a match, the company may have to settle for Rousey being in Rock’s corner for a match against Triple H.
A recent report from PWInsider has provided the latest information as to what WWE may have in store for Ronda Rousey. The website noted that WWE officials now consider her “part of the family,” fully expecting her to work with the company again. In turn, WWE may start promoting her non-UFC ventures.
Additionally, the report revealed that The Rock had a lot to do with Rousey’s appearance at WrestleMania 31. “The Brahma Bull” reportedly convinced UFC President Dana White to sign off on Rousey appearing at WrestleMania, even though White had his fears. Still, WWE does not expect White to allow Rousey to compete at WrestleMania 32. Once again, the company may have to rely on The Rock to convince White otherwise.
There are reportedly other people within the company that expect Rousey to appear at WWE’s next television event in the Los Angeles area at the Staples Center. Tentatively, that would be the “Hell in a Cell” pay-per-view on Oct. 25.
Editor’s Note
At the very least, I could see Ronda Rousey attending “Hell in a Cell.” I’m not so sure UFC would again allow her to further any sort of WrestleMania 32 storyline though.
