Over the past month or two, there have been multiple rumors that WWE wants Ric Flair to return to WWE programming as a regular character. Following his appearance on the April 28 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” some thought it was the start of the “Nature Boy” being featured on-screen more often. However, Flair did not appear at “Extreme Rules,” or on “Monday Night Raw” since. Though, in the beginning of May, WWE reportedly made an offer to Flair to work a more regular role.
Things continued to pick up steam last week, as we reported that Flair was scheduled to be evaluated by Dr. Joseph Maroon in Pittsburgh, as part of his return. The report even noted that Flair wanted to work with Dolph Ziggler, while WWE would like to Flair to realign with The Miz.
PWInsider recently published an update to the situation, noting that as of Monday, May 26, Flair had not been to Pittsburgh for his evaluation. Additionally, a source told the website that Flair may be dealing with a blood clot in one of his legs. If that is indeed true, Flair’s return may have to be put on hold, as WWE does not allow its active performers to use blood thinners.
However, it was also noted that in a recent interview with Mike Mooneyham, Flair revealed that his blood clot issue had “cleared up.”
Editor’s Note
I would love to see WWE and Ric Flair be able to work things out. Hopefully, Flair’s evaluation goes well and his blood clot has indeed cleared up.
