As WWE announced on March 30, eight new WWE Network programs will be coming to the subscription service in 2015. Among them was “WWE Too Hot For TV,” which will be hosted by famous talk show host Jerry Springer. Each episode will see Springer showcase some of WWE’s most outrageous moments, with each show having its own theme.
In a recent interview with Business Insider, Jerry Springer previewed “WWE Too Hot For TV.” He compared the show to “Talk Soup,” which aired on E! from 1991 up until 2002. “Talk Soup” paved the way for “The Soup,” hosted by Joel McHale, which currently airs weekly on E!.
Springer explained:
“The best parallel I can draw is that show ‘Talk Soup,’ which has been on for years. I guess the only question I had is: why did it take us so long to think about that because it’s so obvious? It’s been so much entertainment for so many years.”
“It’s a natural fit. Truth is, our audiences overlap. They’re the same demographic. So yeah, it was easy to say ‘yes’ to.”
According to PWInsider, “WWE Too Hot For TV” is expected to debut or be previewed on Monday, April 27, following “Monday Night Raw,” or the day after on April 28.
