While there were reports that the feud between Jack Swagger and Rusev may have been scrapped, the July 28 edition of “Monday Night Raw” proved that was not the case. Soon after Zeb Colter and Lana verbally clashed, the two behemoths clashed. In the end, Swagger would best Rusev, standing tall at the end of the segment. For the segment, Rusev and Swagger carried his country’s respective flag. With Swagger getting the last laugh, the flag of the United States of America waved, as the Houston crowd chanted “USA.”
F4WOnline has published a report updating the feud between Jack Swagger and Rusev. Its report notes that the two are expected to clash once again, at “SummerSlam,” in a Flag Match. The idea behind the bout being a Flag Match is that it could be a way for Swagger to defeat Rusev without having to pin or submit the “The Super-Athlete.”
At the “Battleground” pay-per-view, Rusev would best Jack Swagger by way of count-out. Despite taking the loss, Swagger shined, making Rusev look vulnerable for the first time. Swagger was able to put Rusev in the “Patriot Lock,” which Rusev still felt the effects of the following night on “Raw.”
Editor’s Note
With the way things have been going, a Flag Match between these two is to be expected. It would be a perfect way to have Swagger win at “SummerSlam,” one of WWE’s most patriotic pay-per-view events, if not, the most.
