As we previously reported, WWE.com published a piece revolving around Curtis Axel training The Rock and Brock Lesnar for some of the biggest matches in WWE history. While Axel did train with The Rock for his return matches at “Survivor Series,” WrestleMania 28, and the 2013 “Royal Rumble,” former WWE talent Curt Hawkins also trained with “The Great One.” However, Hawkins, who was released by WWE on June 12, 2014, was not mentioned in the piece.

Following his non-inclusion in the story, Hawkins posted the following on Twitter:

This is not the first time that Hawkins has stirred things up on social media. Soon after his release from WWE, Hawkins took a shot at Mark Henry, who on his birthday, celebrated the fact that his tenure with WWE is set to reach 18 years. Hawkins misconstrued the tweet, as something that belittled the eleven WWE employees who were released that day.

Back in 2012, there were rumblings that Curt Hawkins was the main individual to train The Rock for his match with John Cena at WrestleMania 28. Around the same time, a photo (see above,) which shows Hawkins receiving a “Rock Bottom” from “Rocky,” surfaced.

Editor’s Note

I really wonder if Hawkins even read the article. I’m guessing he did not, and only read the headline. The piece revolved around Curtis Axel, a current WWE employee, unlike Hawkins. It was not centered around how The Rock prepared for his return matches in WWE. Hawkins would be wise to just log off any time he gets the itch to take a shot at WWE.
