WWE is set to enter WrestleMania week, as it airs the final edition of “Monday Night Raw” prior to WrestleMania 31 on March 23. Additionally, the show marks the penultimate showing of WWE’s flagship program that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is slated to work. At the end of March, following the March 30 post-WrestleMania episode of “Monday Night Raw,” Lesnar’s current WWE contract will expire.
Through the past couple of weeks, WWE has worked feverishly to re-sign one of its biggest stars. In fact, a couple weeks ago, Brock Lesnar walked out of the building during the Feb. 23 showing of “Monday Night Raw” due to intense contract negotiations with Vince McMahon and WWE. The two sides were said to not have budged, as of March 11, with time continuing to tick down.
According to F4WOnline, WWE is going to amplify its already fevered pitch to re-sign Brock Lesnar before the March 23 showing of “Monday Night Raw” goes on the air. WWE is adamant on not waiting until the last minute, following WrestleMania 31, to extend the contract of “The Beast Incarnate.” One WWE source described the situation to F4WOnline as “a game of who, in the end, isn’t going to blink.”
Editor’s Note
It looks like we will know what the future holds for Brock Lesnar, coming out of the March 23 showing of “Raw.” Whether or not Lesnar re-signs, I would love to see WWE further incorporate Lesnar’s contract status into his current WrestleMania 31 storyline.
