Backstage Word on Possible Injuries for Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose

As seen on the July 14 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, the two men who will go one-on-one at “Battleground,” both appeared to get banged up. However, according to PWInsider, word within WWE is that both men are fine, and did not suffer significant injuries.

During the opening segment of the show, Ambrose was attacked by Rollins, Kane, and Randy Orton. These three men were slated to battle Ambrose, John Cena, and Roman Reigns in a six-man tag team match for the main event of the night. Ambrose was defenseless, as Cena and Reigns did not come to his defense. At one point in the attack, Ambrose was busted open but would not lay down, stating, “is that all you got?” In the end, Ambrose would be pulled from the main event, and did not appear afterwards.

PWInsider received questions from fans in regards to Ambrose’s injury status. The website noted that Ambrose is fine, but was busted open in the mouth. Ambrose did not suffer any significant injury and will not miss any time.

Rollins, on the other hand, was believed to be injured in the main event. Rollins attempted to hit Reigns with a springboard from the ring apron into the ring, but landed awkwardly. He was then clotheslined out of the ring, and apparently tweaked his knee upon landing. Referee Charles Robinson put up the dreaded “X” symbol for an injury, and the cameras were kept off Rollins for the rest of the broadcast.

However, PWInsider states that Rollins did not suffer any significant knee injury. A source from WWE told the website that Rollins was just doing a fantastic job selling his knee injury during the closing moments of the main event. However, people within the company are suspicious as to why cameras were kept off of Rollins.

If true, this is great news. However, I am still not sold that Rollins was just doing a fantastic job selling. With the “X” symbol up, I think it’s more plausible that Rollins was hurt, but nothing significant came from it.
