It’s still a little hard to believe that Jinder Mahal is going to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash, as he’s pretty much been used as an enhancement guy since he returned to the company last year. But, it looks like WWE is big on the idea of making an Indian star, which is why Mahal has gotten this main event push from out of nowhere.

However, it doesn’t look like the push is going to last very long, according to Cageside Seats. In fact, it’ll probably come to an end following his match with Randy Orton later this month, unless something changes.

They’re also reporting that, to the surprise of no one, WWE isn’t planning on putting the WWE Championship on Mahal. Again, everything can change between now and the event, so just because he’s not booked to win the title now doesn’t mean that he won’t end up winning the title in the end.
