It’s probably safe to say that Shinsuke Nakamura’s WWE pay-per-view didn’t live up to the hype, and while he still does have plenty of time to get over on the main roster, he likely won’t end up getting over if he keeps performing at the level he did on Sunday night.

Nakamura, who had a fantastic career over on Japan prior to coming to NXT last year, is 37 years old, and he’s pretty beat up, which, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, is probably the reason why he left Japan and came to WWE.

“I really think that Nakamura, one of the reasons that he came [to WWE], is because I think his body was done doing what he did [in Japan], and he knew that he could do a lot less here and get away with it.”

Nakamura was fantastic during his time down in NXT, and he’s, by far, the most charismatic guy on the main roster, so he probably will be able to get over at some point. But, even though he ended up getting his hand raised at Backlash, he’s not off to a great start on the main roster.
