Jinder Mahal, who will challenge Randy Orton for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship this coming Sunday night at Backlash, appeared on Chris Jericho’s podcast — Talk is Jericho — on Wednesday, where he talked about being re-signed by WWE, and he also revealed that he hit rock bottom just a couple of months before he was brought back.
Mahal, who might have the best physique in the entire company right now, said that he was grossly overweight just a few months before WWE reached out to him. But, one day he just decided to get back into shape, and just two months later, WWE contacted him about a return.
“When I came back I didn’t come back in as good of shape as I am now,” said Mahal on Talk is Jericho. “So, just to backtrack a little bit, maybe about two months before I came back, like, I had hit rock bottom. I mean, I was drinking all the time, and I was not watching what I eat. I was actually 260 pounds, just like fat, just working the indies and not caring. And then one day I just decided to get in shape. I stopped drinking, and I got the meal prep from Nutrition Solutions, and I just started dieting and training hard. And literally after two months of me doing this, that’s when WWE called me.”
