When the fans are demanding to see a particular match, WWE usually gives them what they want, especially if it’s a huge dream match like Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock was in 2002. However, they don’t always deliver.
Sting finally signed with WWE in late-2014, and almost immediately fans began calling for the long-awaited dream match between The Icon and The Undertaker. But, when Sting debuted at Survivor Series, it became clear that WWE wasn’t going to have him wrestle the Phenom in his debut match.
Instead, Sting wrestled Triple H at WrestleMania 31, despite the fact that the longtime WCW and TNA star made it clear that he wanted a match with The Undertaker. So, why didn’t the match happen? According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it didn’t happen because Vince McMahon wasn’t interested in booking the match.
@davemeltzerWON Was there any reason why Taker vs Sting didn't happen at WM31?

We don’t know why Vince McMahon wasn’t interested in booking such a massive match, especially when you consider the fact that both Sting and Undertaker were healthy and willing to do it.
Even though he officially retired at last year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony due to a neck injury, Sting still wants to have a match with The Undertaker. In fact, he’s reportedly holding off on getting neck surgery because he still wants that match. Sadly though, it probably won’t happen.
