After spending almost 15 years wrestling outside of WWE, and roughly two years down in NXT, Samoa Joe finally made his main roster debut back in January, and he was brought into the main event picture right away. So, it’s clear that WWE has big plans for the longtime TNA star.

Joe, who is almost 38, has been the world champion in just about every promotion that he’s worked for, aside from WWE. But, according to The Rock, that’ll change very soon.

In a recent Instagram post, The Rock had some pretty high praise for Samoa Joe, saying that we’ll one day refer to him as WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Been following this man's wrestling career for years now. I'm very happy to see him (finally) in the WWE making a global name for himself. Many wrestling and fight historians will attest to this, that at one time in 1970's, pro wrestlers were some of the biggest and toughest men on the planet. Well before UFC and MMA made its worldwide footprint, there was a hard core wrestling style derived from "Catch wrestling" which then spawned lots of shoot styles in wrestling training. Samoa Joe reminds me of that rare legit tough MF throwback style of wrestler. Happy for him and his family. It's his time. He's earned it and one day we'll be referring to him as WWE World Champ. Keep kickin' ass Uso. #SamoaJoe #FutureChamp #Backstage #RAW

Joe is currently scheduled to take on Sami Zayn at tonight’s Fastlane show, and with Bill Goldberg vs. Kevin Owens, and Bruan Strowman vs. Roman Reigns being the show’s other two big matches, Joe has the opportunity to steal the show in his very first WWE pay-per-view match.
