Following Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship win at WrestleMania 33, it looked like WWE was building towards a match between The Beast and Braun Strowman at a future pay-per-view. Then, it became apparent that the two were going to clash at the July pay-per-view called Great Balls of Fire. However, the match may be pushed back due to Strowman’s recent injury.
According to Cageside Seats, the current plan for Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam does involve him defending the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman. So, it looks like the match is being pushed back a month due to The Monster Among Men’s injury.
“Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman still appears to be the plan for SummerSlam.”
It does look like Brock Lesnar will still defend the Universal Championship at the July show though, as he’s currently scheduled to return to television in early-July. As for possible challengers, well, there’s two that come to mind: Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.
