When Bill Goldberg returned to WWE back in October, he ended his first promo by telling Brock Lesnar that he was last. Essentially, the ex-WCW megastar was only planning on doing one more match, and then he was going to retire from in-ring activity. But, his return got over so well that Vince McMahon asked him if he’d be willing to comeback for more than just one more match.

During an interview with Sporting News which took place prior to this past Monday’s Raw, Goldberg expanded on what made him decide to come back for more than one match.

“You know, I think the reaction of my son, the reaction of my wife and, you have to say, the reaction of the crowd. I’m greatly appreciative than anybody would ever know who I was, especially back then when I was doing my thing, let alone 12 years removed and the welcome that I got. I’m very humbled and it just makes me want to go out and work harder. I’m here in Cleveland, woke up at 5 o’clock, already worked out the first time today, ate a couple of times, gonna go to the gym again here in a little while. I’m addicted to this training thing. I’m an extremely lucky guy. Vince McMahon has opened his doors and I’m back at home. It’s a different experience this time.”

As of right now, we know that Goldberg is scheduled to wrestle at least three more matches, with the first of the three happening at this Sunday’s Royal Rumble, and presumably the last of the three being against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33. The one match that’s a complete mystery is his Fastlane match, which probably won’t be much of a mystery after this Sunday’s show.
