On Tuesday’s Talking Smack, Daniel Bryan pretty much said that he’s planning on returning to the ring in 18 months, whether it’s with WWE or not. Essentially, he said that he’s leaving the company unless they let him continue as an in-ring performer.
According to Cageside Seats, it looks like Daniel Bryan will, in fact, leave WWE when his contract comes to an end, unless he’s allowed to return to the ring.
Furthermore, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has said that if Bryan wrestles again, it’ll be in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
“He didn’t exactly say that [he’s leaving WWE], but he certainly hinted that he’s gonna wrestle again, or that he’s at least thinking about it. I don’t think he’s wrestling [in WWE again]. I think he’s wrestling in New Japan Pro Wrestling, if he’s gonna be wrestling anywhere.”
Daniel Bryan was forced to retire last year due to concussion issues. It’s important to note that he was cleared by almost every non-WWE doctor that he saw, but Dr. Joseph Maroon, who is the head of medical at WWE, wouldn’t clear him for an in-ring return.
