There have been rumblings and rumors about Jeff Hardy leaving TNA after his contract expires to return to WWE. It was believed that if Jeff went back to WWE that Matt Hardy would follow him only a few weeks later. However, those plans are now kaput.
Earlier today, TNA President Dixie Carter announced that the company has re-signed Hardy to a new contract that is said to be a multi-year deal.
After the announcement, Carter posted the following on Twitter confirming Hardy’s new deal with TNA:

Matt Hardy just defeated Ethan Carter III for the TNA World Championship last week and turned heel. With Jeff Hardy resigned, it’s very likely that we’ll be seeing Jeff vs. Matt Hardy at some point in the near future.
It also seems strange that Matt wouldn’t resign give his position in the company. If The Hardy Boyz are staying with TNA, WWE fans are left wondering what could have been for WWE’s Tag Team division.
