Although, it’s understandable because Styles has already finished with scheduled appearances for the company, Nakamura is actually set to leave NJPW by the end of January, which is much sooner than expected.
As of this writing, the IWGP IC Champion is announced for three matches as a part of NJPW’s FantasticaMania Tour. Those matches will feature Nakamura as a part of a different tag team for each one, but he’s also expected to drop the IC title to Kenny Omega before his time with NJPW is officially done.
It is still not a guarantee that he will be WWE bound after January since nothing is announced officially, but it’s looking like NJPW and WWE don’t want a repeat of the AAA and Alberto Del Rio situation. If Nakamura is WWE bound, there won’t be any loose ends and no promotion will be directly hurt.
